Every place has a story, more or less long, which must be acknowledged. Thirty years ago, these walls housed a famous Milanese hardware store, and it’s from here, from a story of metal and stone, which is starting the new CAP, designed by Alessandro Schvili and built by famous craftsmen and designers .
The CAP furniture consists of unique elements, tailored recovering materials whose past is linked to the present and the future of the new space: iron and straw chairs; stools made from old barrels; tables made of old millstones or of recovered wooden floors; cupboards that unite fixtures and drawers in a delicate retro style; and then the benches, which combine soft cushions with stylish metal headboards. And the floor: a mix of uneven iron slabs, cement and chipping grits tiles of the turn of the century.
Great attention to lighting, entrusted to an artist who has recovered iron stoves, pumps, funnels and pulleys: the sculpture-lamps of the restaurant, where light passes through the letters engraved on the metal, symbolize the conviviality and conversation of the table, while the bar at the entrance, covered by a sheet with backlit numeral incisions, plays with the name of the club – CAP, that in italian means also ZIP code – a kind of echo of the attention to the origin of products.
An original and unique design, which combines past and future wrapping the customers in an elegant, warm and informal atmosphere; where the freshness of the fish, the warmth of wine and the conversational style can merge in perfect harmony, for an unforgettable culinary experience.
